The Hit Girl? That's what I wanted to be like five years ago. She is an amazing superhero, although her costume leaves much to be questioned. As is her sanity, since she is like ten years old in this movie. In real life, this girl seems dangerous, too. She is only 13, but a lot of her pictures on IMDB make me scared for her future - she is a wild child just waiting for the front page of a tabloid.
So. The movie. It's very violent and Nicholas Cage is in it, but I enjoyed it anyways. Something about the premise of a real life kid questioning why real life people who love superheroes don't become superheroes, then becoming one only to fail pretty epically for a lot of the movie. It was charming, save for the violence of it. The combination of sweet intentions, puppy love and people dying to the nth degree made it strange in a way that was captivating... In fact, I'm pretty sure I loved this movie. A little confused, but definitely in love.
Girl's Rating: This movie was rad. Yup. Rad.

Guy's view...
Kick-Ass, what to say? Everybody says that they would like to be a superhero or have some sort of fantastic ability (for me, immortality). After seeing this I'm not so sure that I wanna fight crime. It seems like it hurts... a lot. In Kick-Ass a kid decides to become a crime fighter even though he has no abilities to fight or do anything special at all. Even with this against him He gains some sort of fame after defending a man being beaten by criminals.
This movie is funny. The girl that plays "The Hit-Girl" swears like a pirate and Kick-Ass's alter ego has to pretend to be gay guy to get closer to the girl that he has a crush on. So there's a lot more then just action in this movie. When the action starts however it's really violent and really gory. Especially when the person who's blowing gangsters brains out is a ten year old girl.
This movie will certainly find an audience and will probably have at least one sequel. I think one is enough. It will gain some sort of cult stature sooner or later. Put the money in to making a sequel for the "The Losers" instead. I really want more of that.
Guy's Rating: Not as many laughs as I was hoping for but enough action to keep me watching.
