A Note...

... to our loyal readers.

Guy is in Sweden, currently, and Girl is in Canada. No, we did not split up, as one of you has commented, but we do come from different sides of the world and this tends to happen when you are stupid enough to get involved in a long distance relationship.

So! To those of you who are expecting this website to be kept up to date on a regular basis (even after the fact that this has never happened so far), you will be disappointed.

But! We will try to watch the same movies, and we will try to write reviews about them at some point, then try to post those reviews on a semi-timely basis... maybe.

Some of you may call this a stilted promise, but we just call it reality. Unlike Lindsay Lohan, we have our feet planted firmly in it.

Guy’s review...

Mel Gibson is back after his rant about jews that kept him out of the spotlight for a while. Maybe it wasn’t that but there has to be a reason why he kept himself behind the scenes. I saw a sketch on SNL where Andy Samberg played Mel as a guest at the view. When he explained the plot to this new film the “women” on the view just yelled out the titles of his old movies. This synopsis will explain why.

In this movie Mel plays a detective from Boston. He now lives in Massachusetts where everything apparently is illegal. In the first scene we see Mel pick up his daughter at the airport. She seems sick and keeps getting worse at a rapid rate. When she finally throws up at the dinner table they decide to go to the hospital. As soon as they exit the house a guy with a shotgun shoots Mel’s daughter in the stomach. Now Mel is angry and wants answers. First everybody writes it off as a mistake thinking that Mel was the real target. Following the trail of breadcrumbs we find out that his daughter was actually involved in some serious shit.

Believe it or not I missed ol’ Mel Gibson. I’m a big fan of “The Road Warrior”, “Lethal Weapon” and other movies he made in the 80’s and 90’s. I saw an interview where he said that this script made him wanna throw his hat in the ring again. Well, this movie is like everything else that he has done before. Only difference is that this script was poorly constructed and had an ending that will have everybody cringe.

Guy’s Rating: Watch something with young Mel.
