A Note...

... to our loyal readers.

Guy is in Sweden, currently, and Girl is in Canada. No, we did not split up, as one of you has commented, but we do come from different sides of the world and this tends to happen when you are stupid enough to get involved in a long distance relationship.

So! To those of you who are expecting this website to be kept up to date on a regular basis (even after the fact that this has never happened so far), you will be disappointed.

But! We will try to watch the same movies, and we will try to write reviews about them at some point, then try to post those reviews on a semi-timely basis... maybe.

Some of you may call this a stilted promise, but we just call it reality. Unlike Lindsay Lohan, we have our feet planted firmly in it.

BOOGIE WOOGIE

Guy’s Ush!

This movie is based in the art world of London. We follow a bunch of people who buy and sell art... That’s pretty much it. They makers of this movie really tried to make something interesting with this by inserting adultery and a girl that almost dies because she has a twin corpse inside of her.

The cast is pretty great and that was the only reason I even sat through the film. I mean I’m Swedish so I have to support the movies that our own Stellan Skarsgård appears in. I’m sorry to say however that even his acting was just mediocre. On another note, Gillian Anderson has aged very gracefully. She looks even better than she did when she was the non-believer in “The X-Files”.

Guy’s Rating: Steer clear of this movie.

Girl’s weird...

Odd cast. Odd premise. Odd moral of the story.

Scully teams up with the Spy Who Shagged Austion Powers who teams up with Chloe/the girl who seems to be in everything right now (Amanda Seyfield) who teams up with the dad in 28 Days Later who teams up with Monica and Ross’ Dad. Odd cast, right? Yeah. You got everything from the supernatural to the slutty covered concerning acting experience, which is probably why it was so hard to nail exactly what these characters were about and what the tone of the movie was.

I think that the overall idea was that the art world is cut throat, which is not news to anyone, by the way. This idea got lost in plots within plots within affairs within more affairs. It was all very incestuous, and WHAT was with that dead twin inside Amanda??

Girl’s Rating: Uhm, no.
