A Note...

... to our loyal readers.

Guy is in Sweden, currently, and Girl is in Canada. No, we did not split up, as one of you has commented, but we do come from different sides of the world and this tends to happen when you are stupid enough to get involved in a long distance relationship.

So! To those of you who are expecting this website to be kept up to date on a regular basis (even after the fact that this has never happened so far), you will be disappointed.

But! We will try to watch the same movies, and we will try to write reviews about them at some point, then try to post those reviews on a semi-timely basis... maybe.

Some of you may call this a stilted promise, but we just call it reality. Unlike Lindsay Lohan, we have our feet planted firmly in it.

ONE WEEK

Girl’s loooveeee...

This movie was ridiculous! It made me cry and laugh, the acting from Jackson (Vancouver shout out!) was great, and the visuals were just as astounding as I know my country to be!

I would hate to ruin my love for this movie with criticism, but... Well, that’s what this site is for! The love between Joshua and his girlfriend is ruined by bad acting on the girl’s part. Also by some odd choices for character beats. For one, Joshua having sex with that woman in the woods was a bit odd... Cheating? Yes. Good thing? No. Redeemed? Not really... and that left a sour taste on the relationship. But! He was dying and people do crazzzzyy things when faced with something dire. I guess we can forgive the writers for not redeeming qualities in humans when they are organic.

I will write no more, however, as I want everyone to see this movie for themselves. Please keep in mind... this is my homeland :)

Girl’s Rating: Finally! A good movie from Canada. And I was more than just proud, I was touched! Pacey... the thing that made you woe the pants off your high school teacher? You’ve still got it!

Guy’s feelings for Canada...

Before I tell you what this movie was about I have to tell you that Joshua Jackson has actually grown into a great actor. You guys out there might not agree with me... you should. Why should you? I hear you ask. You should because the television show “Fringe” is really fucking awesome. Awesome!

Anyway, this movie is about Joshua’s character that finds out that he has stage four cancer all over the place and has little time (two years) left to live if not treated. Instead of just admitting himself to a hospital straight away he decides to buy a motorcycle and travel across Canada. He does this to find Grumps (himself), a character he made up as a kid and comes to terms with the fact that he might die.

I actually enjoyed this movie a lot even if it made me feel like all kinds of poo after it was done. I guess they did a great job with the character when you feel awful in the end of the movie knowing that he might die at any moment. On another note, Canada is super beautiful. In this movie we get to see a lot of it but not nearly enough. You could almost say that this movie is an homage to the beauty of Canada’s nature.

Guy’s Rating: Need a good cry? Then here you go.
